A place that Knowsley can be proud of
In an effort to tackle the housing crisis gripping the UK, the Government has identified land to develop 14 new ‘Garden Villages’ across England. From Cornwall to Cumbria, these Garden Villages aim to curb urban sprawl and avoid extending existing towns and settlements, instead retaining as much green space as possible to create a fusion of rural and suburban living.
Our emerging vision for the new residential development is taken from ‘Garden City’ principles, adapted for both Whiston and the 21st Century. These principles guide developments that are holistically planned with imaginatively designed homes, located within beautiful landscaped settings which enhance the natural environment.
Garden Village settlements deliver high quality housing and locally accessible jobs, as well as sustainable communities at strategic locations which benefit from strong public and private transport links. For more information, take a look at places like Hampstead Garden Suburb, Letchworth and Welwyn Garden Cities.
Of course, a Garden Village for the 21st century in Whiston must respond to modern challenges, such as climate change, and local issues by creating a sense of place, open space and accessibility. Bloor Homes’ plans will reflect the philosophy of Garden Villages – after all, they have endured the test of time – whilst delivering a well-landscaped secure development, with gardens, places for children to play and well-designed houses that reflect local character, but which meet the demands of modern times.
